All of the Get to Know Program websites are managed by Morningstar Enterprises Inc. on behalf of the Get to Know Society. In the following policy, "we" and "our" refer to both Morningstar Enterprises Inc. and the Get to Know Society.
Like most web servers, our web server automatically recognizes and records each visitor's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser information, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, estimated geographical location, and similar data. This information is also recorded by Google Analytics and is kept confidential under the terms of Google's strict privacy policy.
We use this automatically collected information for internal review, site analysis, understanding visitor trends and to improve the content of our Web pages. We do not share automatically collected data about individual visitors with any third parties.
Through our websites, we may ask for or require personal information from those who participate in some of our programs or who wish to use some of the services we provide. We will only ask for such information as is necessary for us to provide, or to evaluate the effectiveness of, that program/service.
Protecting the privacy of young people, our primary audience, is very important to us. We ask that all children under thirteen years of age browse our website with a parent, guardian, or teacher; we also request that children have permission from a parent, guardian, or teacher before submitting any personal information. When we publish the names and other information about contest winners or other participants in our programs, we strive to ensure that the published information is very limited.
We maintain an electronic mailing list in order to distribute the Get to Know Quarterly Newsletter. Should anyone on this list wish to stop receiving email from us, he or she can unsubscribe using the link provided at the end of each email.
We will not sell or otherwise provide the personal information of our website visitors to any third parties, except when strictly necessary to provide a service that the visitor has requested. For example, we may provide a customer's mailing address to one of our suppliers so that the customer's order from our online store can be shipped, or we may provide information submitted with a contest entry to one of our partner organizations for the purposes of judging the entry or providing a prize to the winner.
Our websites contain links to other websites; please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. This privacy statement applies solely to websites run by Morningstar Enterprises Inc. and/or the Get to Know Society.
Our websites may store small pieces of information ("cookies") on each visitor's computer, as virtually all interactive websites do. The information on these cookies is used only to enhance the experience of each visitor to our websites by maintaining basic information and preferences as the visitor moves from one webpage to the next. Visitors may use their web browsers to delete or block these cookies at any time, although doing so may prevent certain parts of our websites from working correctly.
